Roslyn High School Tennis attends the Tennis Expo
Roslyn Tennis
On Sunday February 9th, representatives of all 4 Roslyn High School tennis teams and Coach Kerri Jannotte-Hinkley, volunteered at the New York tennis Expo held at Nassau Coliseum. This is the third year that Roslyn has volunteered at this event and the largest tennis expo in the country which is sponsored and run by Long Island Tennis Magazine. Over 6,500 people were in attendance this year. The players helped out with Beach tennis, game area, and the mini courts at the Net Generation zone. They also attended two speaker sessions about college tennis, the mental game of tennis and other topics where the panel consisted of professional players like Jack Sock, local coaches like Steve Kaplan, local players and legendary professional coach, Nick Bolletieri. The day started with the Roslyn players participating in a clinic for students with autism and other developmental delays through an organization named Pop Earth. It was an amazing day where Roslyn kids displayed the best aspects of sportsmanship, integrity and community involvement. Thank you to David Sickmen for involving our programs for the 3rd year in a row.
