    What is B.I.T.E.?

The B.I.T.E. Program is an evening recreational and instructional weight training program for high school (9th-12th grade) students.  It meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Roslyn High School weight room located near the lower gymnasiums in the high school. We will be starting the program on Monday, September 9, 2024. Students must be registered on FamilyID (Arbiter Sports) to attend this program. We follow the school calendar, and we are closed when school is not in session.

    Who teaches it?

The instructor is Mr. Lanzillotta. He is a Physical Educator who is also the LRS at Roslyn Middle School.  He has coached many different sports in our district at both the High School and Middle School.  Mr. Lanzillotta can provide guidance and instruction to all 9th-12th grade students, in a safe, supervised, and personalized learning environment.

What can it do for your child?

The goals of the B.I.T.E program are to develop and improve our students’ muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular health and endurance, and flexibility training.  Students will be taught how to use, enjoy, and become motivated by a wide variety of fitness machines and weightlifting options. The B.I.T.E. program is open to all students who would like to create a personal fitness and training program under the guidance of a health and fitness specialist.

We are interested in meeting the needs of all our students, whether they already participate in athletics, would prefer recreational activities, or need direction in developing and supporting their personal wellness.  When you attend for the first time, Mr. Lanzillotta will take your name for attendance. Students can attend each week based on their own personal schedules and academic responsibilities.

    Commitment

Students do not have to attend every session. They also do not have to stay for the full length of the program. Participants are encouraged to attend and stay for the length of time that fits their schedule and training goals.
