    HEALTH EDUCATION

The Health Education program is designed to develop an awareness about the physical, emotional, and social aspects of a healthy lifestyle. Students will examine human behavior to achieve the skills, knowledge and outlook that will allow them to obtain an optimal quality of life and well-being, recognizing strong supportive connections to their home, school & greater community. This course gives students the opportunity to study the challenges involved with obtaining good mental, physical and social wellness as they move into young adulthood. Health units such as Interpersonal Communication, Stress Management, Substance Addiction & Abuse, Human Sexuality, Disease Prevention and Violence Prevention are studied for their impact on present and future trajectory. Students are provided with information to heighten knowledge so that they may make well-informed and sound choices, develop skills and attitudes, and examine the benefits of a positive, healthy lifestyle.
