    COURSE DESCRIPTION
     

    French 4H 

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF COURSE: 

    Emphasis is placed on the improvement, development and refinement of the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Grammatical concepts are reviewed contextually. Selections from French literature and authentic materials are read, discussed and analyzed. The values inherent in acquiring second?language proficiency and heightened cultural awareness of a multi?cultural society are promoted.

     MAJOR TOPICS COVERED:

     The major topics that will be developed with relevant and appropriate grammar topics are: personal identification, house and home, family life, community and neighborhood, physical environment, meal taking and beverages, health and welfare, education, earning a living, leisure, public and private services, shopping, travel, and current events.  These topics will be used to facilitate self-expression in French.

Parents

  • The next test will be on the new theme of Vacation and Travel.

    On the next test students will have

    • a vocab section
    • short writing  of a minimum of 75 words
    • simulated speaking.

    For the simulated speaking, students respond in writing to questions asked orally by the teacher.
