RHS Junior's Charity Recognized by NYS Governor
Roslyn High School junior Mia Sara was the subject of New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s “Deep Breath Moment” in his NYS Coronavirus update on April 16, 2021. Mia’s charity, The MIA Exchange, or Mission Improvement Apparel Exchange, connects companies to charities to help people in need. During the pandemic many places stopped accepting used clothing, and Mia’s goal is to seek out companies with unused or overstocked items in their warehouses and get them to people who may be disadvantaged. Her organization acts as the middleman to get these items to women’s shelters, churches, the Salvation Army, and other charitable entities. Needless to say, the entire Roslyn School District and community is very proud of Mia and her efforts!
