Five of Roslyn High School’s foremost chemistry students participated in the 2025 United States National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) on March 20, 2025. The students, Chuhao Gong, Serin Jo, Hua Lin, Matthew Lin and Sophie Rosenman, took on the challenge at a local level. Matthew Lin qualified as a top national performer and will advance to the National Chemistry Olympiad National Exam later this month.  

The USNCO is a multi-tiered competition designed to stimulate and promote achievement in high school chemistry. It is considered one of the most prestigious chemistry competitions in the United States.
