Roslyn Students Experience the White House

Students in Ms. Kristy Faulkner's Freshman Humanities Honors class had the opportunity to go to Long Island University's Roosevelt House to immerse themselves in the "White House Experience."

Students engaged in situation room scenarios in which they all took on important cabinet positions, including president, and made tough decisions about China and Tik Tok, as well as a Cold War-era crisis in Grenada. Additionally, they visited the museum and an Oval Office replica, one of four in the country.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for students to participate in a civic engagement program in which they made real-time decisions on the future of our nation through respectful discourse with their peers,” said Ms. Faulkner.
