A Thousand Days at Harbor Hill
On the 100th day of the school year, fifth-graders at Harbor Hill Elementary School celebrated their one-thousandth day of school since kindergarten.
They celebrated their achievement through several writing activities, including each student writing a 100-word reflection on their time as a student over the last six years. Students recalled their first day of kindergarten, reflected on their favorite elementary school memories, expressed pride in how far they have come, and shared gratitude towards parents and teachers.
“The students couldn’t believe that they had completed 1,000 school days since their first day of kindergarten,” said fifth-grade teacher Liba Schwartz. "It really started to hit them that they are nearing the end of their elementary school careers and their writing reflected deep pride in their accomplishments and gratitude for everyone who has helped them reach this point.”
