Fifth-grade students in Ms. Kelly and Ms. Hasenflue’s music classes at Harbor Hill Elementary School had fun learning about the history of halftime performances at the Super Bowl. They were taught about the different criteria that musicians must meet to be chosen as a halftime performer, and worked in groups to present reasons why certain bands and artists were deserving. At the conclusion of the lesson, a vote was held for students to decide their top three picks for the next halftime show. Their picks were Drake, Travis Scott and Olivia Rodrigo.

“It was great to see students take ownership over their presentations and respectfully defend their musical selection,” said Ms. Kelly.
