Cardboard Arcade Challenge
Fifth graders in Ms. Liba Schwartz's class at Harbor Hill Elementary School learned that all you need to create an arcade is some cardboard boxes and tape!
Working together in small groups over several weeks, students planned, designed, and built games for all their classmates to play and enjoy. Their games included a claw machine, a slam dunk game, a marble maze, and an air hockey table.
“Through experimentation and trial and error, the students thoroughly enjoyed this ongoing STEM project that pushed them to collaborate, compromise, and be as creative as possible with the simplest of materials,” said Ms. Schwartz.
