Ms. Palladino's second grade class at Harbor Hill Elementary School learned about the festival of Diwali from a class parent, Ms. Goyal, who visited the school to read a book about the story of  Diwali: The Festival of Lights. The students also enjoyed painting and decorating diyas—small pottery bowls with tealights. To finish off the presentation, Ms. Goyal brought in a sweet treat for each student.

“It’s so nice to welcome our parents back into the classroom again,” said Ms. Palladino. “It's another exciting way for our students to learn something new.”
