RHS Hosts Speakers Bureau for Legal History Students

Roslyn High School is presently hosting a Speakers Bureau in coordination with the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA) for students enrolled in legal history class.

NCBA members generously volunteer their time to fill speaker requests on a variety of legal issues to audiences such as high school classes, libraries, and community organizations. Under the guidance of teacher Mary Mahepath, students are learning about topics such as bail reform in New York State, redistricting and election law, consumer law, cannabis and gaming law, and recent legal issues facing Nassau County.

“We introduced this speaker series as a way to give students the opportunity to learn about different areas of the law and ask questions from practicing attorneys,” said Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Michael Goldspiel. “Each practitioner has expertise on the topic they are presenting and can provide students with a dynamic, fresh perspective on the legal profession.”
