• Mary Wood has been the principal of Heights Elementary School since 2019, providing support for all the students, families, and staff in the Heights school community.


    She joined the Roslyn School District in 2007 as the CPSE Chairperson, and Assistant Principal at Harbor Hill School. Prior to her appointment at Heights, Mrs. Wood worked as an Assistant Principal in the Roslyn School District from 2007-2019.


    She began her career as a Special Education Teacher in the Northport-East Northport School District and the Rockville Centre School District, then later held a position as a Committee on Special Education/Preschool Education in the Northport-East Northport School District.

     

    Ms. Wood holds a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh in Elementary Education/Special Education and a Master’s degree in Literacy from Hofstra University. She earned certifications in School District and Building Administration from Queens College, and a Certificate of Excellent Principal Award from the Korean-American Parents Association of Greater New York. She is also a published writer in Vanguard Magazine.
