Annual Transition Meetings
FEB. 5, 2020 - Our 6th annual CPSE to CSE Transition Meeting for parents was on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Heights. Ms. Samide, Assistant Director of PPS and Special Education provided an overview of the preschool to kindergarten transition process for parents of students with disabilities. The intent of the meeting is to ensure parents are well informed about the process and to provide some comfort with the process by meeting key individuals from the Heights School (Principal, Central Administration, and Special Education staff).
Our annual meetings for parents of children transition to middle school and high school were held during the week of February 3 at Roslyn High School. A presentation for parents of students with disabilities transitioning from elementary school to middle school, followed by the middle school to high school meeting, were both well attended. At the MS to HS meeting, Marnie Cohen, Assistant Director of PPS and Special Education, provided an overview of the programming at the middle school level for students with disabilities. At the high school meeting, she reviewed various "pathways" or diploma options that are available. At both meetings, building personnel and as well as administrators were present to answer questions and provide additional support to our parents.
