12 RHS Students are National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

Roslyn HS National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists
SEP 14, 2016 - With an even dozen students qualifying as semifinalists in this year's National Merit Scholarship program, Roslyn High School's Class of 2017 far surpassed all preceding senior classes for at least the last generation.

These students are among 16,000 nationwide to be named semifinalists, representing less than one percent of high school seniors in the United States. About 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 U.S. high schools entered the 2017 National Merit Program by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). These scholastically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 Merit Scholarship awards, worth about $33 million, that will be awarded next spring.
