Harbor Hill 5th Graders Share Test-Taking Tips

Members of the Harbor Hill 5th Grade Student Council shared engaging slideshow presentations with third and fourth grade students to provide them with “tips and tricks” for taking a state test.

Advice included eating a big breakfast, getting a good night’s sleep, taking deep breaths, positive self talk, and rewarding themselves following the test. They encouraged all students to have a positive mindset. Some students even sang the song “Don’t Worry About a Thing” by Bob Marley to promote a calm vibe!

The 5th Grade Student Council is guided by 5th grade teacher Liba Schwartz, who said, “One of the ways the 5th Grade Student Council loves to help our community is by supporting younger students and visiting their classrooms. They were so excited to pass along their tips and tricks for feeling successful while taking the state tests. I wouldn’t be surprised if they themselves feel more confident on the tests because of this experience.”
