Roslyn Board of Education Tours District to Celebrate Exciting Campus Upgrades
On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the Roslyn Board of Education embarked on their annual district-wide tour to ensure that all buildings are ready and prepared to receive students and faculty, as well as review a series of newly completed campus upgrades.
The tour, led by Thomas Szajkowski, Assistant to the Superintendent for Administration and Special Projects, kicked off at Roslyn High School, where BOE representatives President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy, Vice President Michael Levine, Trustees David Dubner, Alison Gilbert, and Leigh Minsky, along with Superintendent Allison Brown and Assistant Superintendent Michael Goldspiel, marveled at the new cutting-edge Roslyn Electric Vehicle (REV) classroom.
The group reviewed the field house to check out the upgraded Roslyn Boosters concession stand, admired seven sleek new social studies classrooms, explored the renovated pottery studio and Project Lead the Way classroom, and inspected the foundation for the soon-to-be-added security booth.
At East Hills Elementary School, they were impressed by the upgraded boiler room and faculty lounge renovations, the innovative sensory hallway, and the exterior scoreboard on the gym wall. The tour continued at Roslyn Middle School, where they examined newly installed noise panels on the roof, brand-new chorus room chairs, and an upgraded concrete sidewalk and curbing with ADA access. At Harbor Hill Elementary School, they admired the beautifully renovated faculty lounge, and at Heights, they checked out the newly installed gym man-lift. The BOE also observed that all the necessary and required day-to-day maintenance was completed on schedule.
“We are thrilled to unveil these incredible upgrades across our district,” said Superintendent Allison Brown. “Each project reflects our commitment to creating an innovative and supportive learning environment for our students and staff."
