RHS Artist Wins First Place in Nassau County HS Juried Art and Competition
Ming Xi Zheng (aka Romy), a 10th grade student at Roslyn High School, was awarded first place for her painting entitled "Disguiser" in the Nassau County High School Juried Art competition.
The competition, sponsored by the art guild of Port Washington/Manhasset, had over 275 submissions from fourteen Long Island high schools. Seventy-five artists and 81 pieces were accepted into the show.
“I am tremendously proud of Romy for achieving her first-place status,” said art teacher Laurie Schoenberg. “It is highly unusual for a freshman to win first place but it is so well deserved. Romy is an exceptionally gifted artist.”
