East Hills MLK Celebrations

East Hills students celebrated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a variety of unique activities. Inspired by the civil rights leaders’ hopes and dreams for the world, Ms. Lee’s class came up with their own dreams and created a classroom display out of them. Mrs. Kelly’s students created Jamboards to illustrate their dreams for themselves, their homes, and their school. Mrs. Renny’s students shared their dreams with a display outside of their classroom. Mrs. Schlessel’s class drew pictures and wrote about their dreams. Mrs. Tripp’s class created MLK posters and Mrs. Kellan's class participated in MLK presentations. Inspired by the book, Martin’s Big Words, each student in Ms. Naughton’s class chose one of Martin Luther King’s powerful quotes and interpreted what it meant to them.
