Everybody Needs Socks

Socks collected by Roslyn High School GSA JAN 31, 2019 - The members of the Roslyn High School's Gay Straight Alliance decided that they wanted to make a difference in the lives of homeless LGBTQ+ youth so they investigated various organizations around the New York area.  GSA President Emily Mintz found the Ali Forney Center and called to see what could be done to help out.  The contact at the Ali Forney Center mentioned that they are always in the need of socks and that was all it took. The club took this as a challenge to collect as many socks as possible — and two weeks later they collected 1155 pairs of socks!

The GSA's faculty advisor is Lisa Daniels.
