Helping Children in Need

LRoslyn Middle School students make pencil cases for children in El Salvador ast year's sixth grade Family and Consumer Science classes and members of the FACS Club at Roslyn Middle School practiced their sewing skills and made pencil cases, which were donated to underprivileged students in an elementary school in El Salvador.

Students demonstrated their sewing skills to measure, cut, pin and stitch designs on their pencil cases. Finally, students lined the inside of their pencil cases with fabric and sewed a button to secure case.

Faculty and students at Escuela Rural Mixta del Canton El Carmen, San Ignacio, Chalatenango, El Salvador were extremely grateful for the kind, much-needed gesture of the FACS students and their teachers, Rachel Frescott and Liza Mancia.
