Third Graders Deliver Weather Forecast

Third graders in Ms. Puliafico’s STEAM class stepped into the role of meteorologists for a special end-of-unit project titled “Channel 3 News.” Reporting live from third grade, students delivered their own weather forecasts as the grand finale to their weather unit.

Using their understanding of weather patterns, climate, and forecasting, students created and presented original weather reports while strengthening their public speaking and presentation skills. The hands-on experience gave students a fun and engaging way to apply their learning in a real-world context.

“This project gave students the opportunity to combine science, technology, and communication skills in a meaningful and engaging way,” said Ms. Puliafico. “Watching their confidence grow as they transformed into meteorologists and shared their forecasts was a wonderful way to celebrate all they learned throughout the unit.”
