Starbooks Day at East Hills

Following state testing at East Hills Elementary School, students were treated to a festive Starbooks Day activity. Classrooms were transformed into cozy café spaces where students enjoyed refreshments and participated in a “book tasting” experience—exploring a variety of titles by examining covers, reading back-of-book summaries, making predictions, and getting to know characters. Students then shared their thoughts with peers, sparking thoughtful conversations that helped them discover books they wish to read together. The celebration also marked the exciting launch of classroom book clubs. 

“It was wonderful to see students so engaged, curious, and enthusiastic as they stepped into their next reading adventures together,” said third grade Teacher Casey Brown.
