Roslyn Community Approves Purchase of Transportation Property

The Roslyn School District is pleased to announce that the community voted in favor of purchasing the property at 8 Harbor Park Drive, Port Washington, where the District’s transportation building and bus fleet are currently located. The vote took place on October 16, 2025, during a Special District Meeting held in the North Gym of Roslyn High School. Polls were open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The measure was approved by a vote of 212 in favor and 18 opposed.

The purchase, funded through the District’s existing Capital Reserve Fund, will not increase the school tax levy. Owning the property outright will eliminate recurring lease costs and provide long-term stability for the operation of the District’s bus fleet and transportation program, ensuring efficient service for students for years to come.

“This outcome reflects our community’s shared commitment to thoughtful planning and fiscal responsibility,” said Superintendent Allison Brown. “I am deeply grateful to our residents for their continued trust and support of the Roslyn School District.”
