Roslyn BOE Celebrates Physics Olympics Champions
At the April 28, 2026, Roslyn Board of Education meeting, President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy recognized outstanding student achievement, presenting certificates to the team that earned first place at the 40th Annual Long Island Physics Olympics—John Thomas Canton, Orla Gajwani, Russell Plotnitzky, Jack Yin, and Katelyn Zheng—along with their teacher, Alex Huang.
The team competed against 14 high school teams from across Long Island in an event that featured multiple-choice questions designed to challenge students’ knowledge and application of physics principles. This honor reflects the talent, dedication, and spirit of excellence that define the Roslyn community.
