RHS Students Help Celebrate Reopening of Historic Christopher Morley Knothole

Roslyn High School seniors Eliza Liebowitz and Sydney Spier were invited to deliver opening remarks during the reopening ceremony of the historic Christopher Morley Knothole on Sunday, June 9, 2026. Junior Shivan Sharma also contributed to the event, serving as Event Support. During the ceremony, Eliza and Sydney students reflected on the importance of preserving local history and celebrating the legacy of Christopher Morley and the Knothole. They were selected for this special opportunity by their teachers, Mr. Scott Segal and Mr. Matthew Vogt. 

The Knothole—a 90-year-old pine wood cabin located within Christopher Morley Park—was reopened after being shuttered for several years. The historic landmark will now offer free craft projects and educational activities connected to its rich history.

“We are incredibly proud of our students who served as representations of Roslyn High School,” said Jennifer Sapir, Department Head. “Their thoughtful contributions and poise during this meaningful community event exemplified the excellence and civic engagement we strive to foster in our students.”
