RHS Honors Multilingual Excellence

Roslyn High School is proud to announce that 85 senior students are currently in the process of earning the prestigious New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSBL), demonstrating advanced proficiency in English and at least one additional language. Among these students, four will earn the distinguished New York State Seal of Triliteracy for demonstrating proficiency in two additional languages beyond their native language — the highest number in the district’s history.

This year’s triliteracy recipients are pursuing advanced study in multiple world languages, including enrollment in dual Advanced Placement language courses. Their accomplishments reflect exceptional dedication to language learning and cross-cultural understanding.

“To reach this level of proficiency in three languages is truly impressive,” said World Language Chair Danielle Pappas. “It reflects not just talent, but sustained effort, dedication and a willingness to engage deeply with language and culture. We are incredibly proud not only of our four students earning the Seal of Triliteracy, but of all 85 students pursuing the Seal of Biliteracy this year.”

Roslyn High School’s World Language program continues to foster multilingualism, global awareness and intercultural communication, encouraging students to see language learning as both an academic pursuit and a lifelong skill.
