RHS Announces Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Roslyn High School is pleased to announce that Benjamin Davidson has been named Valedictorian and Matthew Lin has been named Salutatorian of the Class of 2026.

Roslyn High School Valedictorian Benjamin Davidson will graduate with a stellar 107.063 GPA. A National Merit Semifinalist and AP Scholar with Distinction, he earned perfect scores across 11 AP exams, including Calculus BC, Physics, and Computer Science. Benjamin is a National Merit Finalist and has received top honors in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, earning a Gold Medal, Gold Key (to be evaluated at the national level), and a Silver Key. As Editor-in-Chief of The Hilltop Beacon, he led a team of over 30 writers and editors, which helped the newspaper win the Quill Award for Best Newspaper on Long Island.. Ben also volunteered as head counselor at Sunrise Day Camp, which supports children with cancer. He excelled in athletics as a varsity cross country and track team captain, earning county championships and competing nationally. Passionate about technology and community service, he developed iOS applications and led initiatives in suicide prevention advocacy. He also held leadership roles in multiple honor societies, including the Science National Honor Society. Benjamin’s accomplishments in research, coding, and public service demonstrate a remarkable blend of academic excellence, leadership, and impact.

Roslyn High School salutatorian Matthew Lin will graduate with an impressive 106.422 GPA. He pursued rigorous coursework including Multivariable Calculus and several AP science and math classes. A dedicated young researcher, he completed chemistry research internships with the Zhong Research Group at Yale, studying advanced polymers and applying machine learning to identify high-conductivity battery electrolyte compositions. He also collaborated with the Seattle Structural Genomics Center for Infectious Disease on research examining malaria-related proteins, with a manuscript pending publication. At Roslyn, he served as captain of Science Olympiad, mentoring more than 50 students, and as chief peer mentor supporting fellow students in research and academic development. His leadership and service extend beyond school through founding the nonprofit initiative Revvifi New York, directing education programs for the Nassau County Youth Council. His research accomplishments have earned numerous honors, including recognition as a Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar, National Merit Finalist, and multiple regional science research awards.
