BOE Honors 2026 District Retirees

Twenty-eight faculty and staff retired from the Roslyn School District in the 2025-2026 academic year, leaving behind a lasting legacy of dedication and service to the Roslyn school community.

An early evening retirement recognition ceremony—held Thursday, June 4, 2026, in the Roslyn High School library—was hosted by Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy, who presented plaques and expressed her deep appreciation for their years of commitment to the district. 

The retirees included principals Scott Andrews and Craig Johanson, and Carol Murphy, assistant principal.

Retiring teachers included Susan Elicks, John Figueroa, Loretta Fonseca, Patricia Frohnhofer, Betsy Hendler, Kerriann Jannotte, Jeannette O’Halloran, Nicole Palladino, Glenn Sherwood, Allyson Weseley, and Laura Zenie.

Retiring teaching assistants included Joan Dirr, Jodi Imperato, and Lori Maller.

Support staff retirees included Milta Matamoros, teachers aide; Nancy Cramer, stenographic secretary; and Gail Kennedy-Hoar, school counselor.

Transportation and operations staff included Carmen Chavez, assistant dispatcher; Parnel Duverneau, bus driver; Herald Harris, bus driver; Adan Romero, cleaner/bus driver; Oscar Tobias, bus driver; and Rafael Gonzalez, bus driver. Custodial and maintenance retirees included Desmond Vella, custodian; and Paul Cesarski Jr., head custodian.
