2026 RMS Graduation Ceremony

Roslyn Middle School honored its graduating eighth-grade class during a ceremony held on June 25, 2026, at Hofstra University. Two hundred ninety-six students entered the arena to the traditional strains of “Pomp and Circumstance” as family members, friends, faculty, and district leaders gathered to celebrate their achievement.

The ceremony opened with the presentation of the PFA Character of Distinction Awards by Assistant Principal Christopher Roth to students Daniella Mirra, Lucas Newman, Caleb Ordower, and Coralie Tam.

Next, under the direction of Music Director Brian Villegas, the Roslyn Middle School Chorale sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Home.” 

Principal Justin Gabrus welcomed guests and recognized retiring staff members Wendy Daly, Loretta Fonseca, Gail Kennedy, and Laura Zenie for their dedicated service to the district.  

Roslyn Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to take advantage of the many opportunities awaiting them at Roslyn High School. She was followed by Roslyn Middle School PFA co-presidents Amy Zuflacht, Nidhi Shah, and Jocelyn Wasserman who offered additional remarks celebrating the students’ accomplishments.

Assistant Principal Melissa Hornik presented the Vanessa Gray Award to Olivia Chieh, and School Counselor Gail Kennedy presented the William Alexander Award to Jacob Gilbert.

The highlight of the ceremony came as each graduate crossed the stage to receive a certificate from President Waxman Ben-Levy. Students were congratulated by members of the Roslyn Board of Education, Superintendent Allison Brown, and Principal Gabrus as proud family members looked on. Roslyn High School Principal Dr. Dave Lazarus concluded the ceremony by officially welcoming the graduates as the incoming members of the Roslyn High School Class of 2030.
