About Us
The Roslyn Union Free School District, located less than 20 miles from midtown Manhattan, serves a five-square-mile area on Long Island’s north shore. It includes the historic Village of Roslyn and parts of East Hills, Flower Hill, Greenvale, Roslyn Estates, Roslyn Harbor, and Roslyn Heights.
The district operates five schools: Heights Elementary School (kindergarten to grade 1), East Hills Elementary School (grades 2–5) and Harbor Hill Elementary Schools (grades 1–5), Roslyn Middle School (grades 6–8), and Roslyn High School (grades 9–12), with a total enrollment of over 3,300 students.
Roslyn schools are known for academic excellence, with students consistently outperforming regional and national benchmarks and a 96% rate of graduates attending four-year colleges. The district offers 27 AP courses and 30 college credit courses, as well as robust programs in STEAM, the arts, athletics, and community service. Comprehensive support services, extensive professional development for educators, and early childhood and adult education programs round out a strong educational environment. Community involvement is central to Roslyn’s success, with active partnerships through PFAs and local organizations that enhance programming and provide scholarships for graduating seniors.
