ROSLYN HIGH SCHOOL SAT Prep: How Roslyn Helps Students Get Ready Nearly all Roslyn High School students take college entrance exams as part of the process of gaining admission to post-secondary education. Roslyn High School takes a number of steps to help students prepare for what is perhaps the most important exam in their high school careers. There is currently a course offered at the high school for the verbal portion of the SAT. This course has been in place for a number of years and has made all of the necessary curricula changes to meet the requirements of the new SAT, which has been extensively revised over the last few years. The course is taught in the spring semester and can accommodate up to 28 students. (Many students take private courses and/or are tutored privately). For information about this course, contact the English Department at 625-6386. The Guidance Department has signed the high school up for an on-line SAT program that any of our students can access from any computer in school or at home. This is a tutorial program complete with practice exams. Call the Counseling Center for information at 625-6347.
Finally, Roslyn Adult Education offers a series of evening prep classes in the fall and spring for the SAT at nominal cost. This too has been in place for many years. The Adult Education catalogue is published twice each year (September and January) and is posted on this website at: |
