A Roslyn High School senior, Jessica Cohen, won first place and a $50,000 college scholarship in the national Young Epidemiology Scholars competition.
Four high school students, Saroja Bangaru, Jason Goodman, Nicole Nussbaum and Amy Herskowitz, were chosen as semifinalists in the Intel Science Talent Search, one of the oldest and most prestigious of the nation's research competitions for high school students. Many other Roslyn students distinguish themselves each year in local, regional, national and even international research programs.
37 Roslyn High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society.
110 current students and recent graduates were named as Advanced Placement Scholars for their exceptional performance on AP exams.
Roslyn High School had a 100% graduation rate and well over 90 percent of the graduating class was admitted into college.
Six Roslyn High School seniors, Jessica Cohen, Joyce Lee, Saroja Bangaru, Robin Zelman, Matthew Friedman and Lee Farber, were named as finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
A Roslyn High School student, Paul Liggieri, was the New York State champion in Student Congress in the New York State Forensics Tournament.
A Roslyn High School student, Brian Rosenblum, was named as a 2005 Arts Recognition and Talent Search Award Recipient by the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts.
Roslyn High School won top honors at the 2004 Princeton Model Congress held in Washington D.C.
41 elementary, middle and high school students were selected to participate in the All-County Music Festivals. Nine Roslyn students were also selected to perform in the Long Island String Festival.
Students in all five schools had their works exhibited in art shows at the Bryant Library.
47 Roslyn High School graduating seniors were awarded the President's Award for Educational Excellence.
The high school's Royal Crown Players presented two musical productions this year, "Man of La Mancha" in the fall and "Leader of the Pack" in the spring. The Middle School Spotlight players performed "Seussical" to sold-out audiences. Scores of students participated in each of these productions.
Three Roslyn High School student athletes, Justine Fields, Beth Mand and Julie La Spina, won All-State honors in competition during this year's fall and winter seasons. The girls bowling team and girls' tennis team won conference championships.
