The Roslyn Public Schools along with other municipalities and school districts are notified by the Nassau County Police when there is a registered sex offender living in our area. The police department releases information on Level Three (high risk), Level Two (moderate risk), and Level One (low risk) sex offenders. The exact address of Level One offenders is not provided, but an area is revealed based on a zip code. Whenever we receive information about safety or security, it should remind us to talk to children about safe practices and procedures when walking to and from school and in the neighborhood during non-school hours. It should also remind us how important all of our security measures are in our schools and encourage us to be vigilant at all times.
