    Watch, Learn, Eat

Roslyn Adult Education's fall Cooking Demonstrations & Luncheon series got off to a fabulous and delicious start on October 15 with the season's first destination: Louie's Oyster Bar and Grille in Port Washington. Chef Colin McKaharay prepared his orange and dill glazed salmon, one of the most popular items on the menu at Louie's, and he also demonstrated his considerable knowledge and experience in a lively discussion with participants.

    The Adult Education Center

Roslyn Adult Continuing Education is located in the Adult Education Center on the campus of Roslyn High School. The building is on the north side of the high school, just behind the gymnasium. Residents can find our offices on the second floor of the Center (formerly the home of the Building Blocks day care program).

There are designated parking spaces for Adult Education in the front of Roslyn High School; please enter the high school through the main entrance, walk straight ahead to the end of the corridor, turn left and out the double doors and the Adult Education Center is right there.

Parking is very limited on the high school campus during the school day. It is very important that Adult Education participants park only in areas designated for them. Cars that are illegally parked may be subject to towing. (Note: There is no parking for daytime Adult Education classes on the north side of the campus near the Administration Building.) For more information about parking at Roslyn High School, click here.

Almost all day classes are held in the Adult Education Center. Evening classes are held in the Center as well as in Roslyn High School and the Roslyn Middle School. Among the many popular daytime and evening courses in the Adult Education Center are:

  • Stone Carving
  • Clay Sculpture
  • Drawing and Painting

  • T'ai Chi
  • Hip-Hop Dance Class

The Committee meets eights times per year, on the second Wednesday of the month from September to May (excepting January) at 9:45am in the Roslyn Administration Building. Meetings are listed in the Scope Calendar. Community residents interested in serving as volunteers on the Committee are encouraged to contact Adult Education Advisory Committee, c/o Roslyn Adult Education, P.O.
